Six thousand K–8 students from New York City Title 1 schools will participate in Google’s Field Trip Days during the 2016-2017 school year.

Sponsored by Google, 2,500 of the students will go on free field trips to NYSCI, where they can explore exhibits and watch science demonstrations on topics such as chemistry and biology. In addition, 3,500 students will engage in activities to enrich their existing field trips. These students will participate in environmentally themed activities such as the Extreme Weather 3D movie, sessions in the Connected Worlds exhibition, and a Design Lab activity where students will build air-powered crafts.

This is the second year that Google has funded this program. Last year, the program reached 5,500 students and was one of NYSCI’s most sought-after field trip programs.
