Water damage in Central Pavilion from Hurricane Ida

On September 1, 2021, NYSCI, as well as other parts of our great city, suffered severe damage from Hurricane Ida. As we close our doors for the next few months, we will embark on a phase of repair, restoration, and rebuilding while our programs to engage and inspire families and educators will continue remotely. This work cannot be completed without science, technology, engineering and math, which are all critical in helping us create an improved and more sustainable space for our future STEM leaders.

New Yorkers are known to be tough and resilient, and it’s safe to say that the last year and a half has done nothing but prove how we are able to come together and emerge from the unexpected even stronger.

New Yorkers are also known for lending a hand through crises, and we can not do this alone. Your support today will help provide the resources NYSCI needs to reopen as the interactive science museum that our community deserves.

We recognize this is a challenging year and that the pandemic has created so much need for so many people, and we thank you for your support.
